Wintty
A fast, GPU-accelerated Windows terminal, built on the Ghostty core.
Same correct VT emulation and deep configuration as Ghostty, plus a WinUI 3 shell and GPU-accelerated DirectX 12 rendering. Windows 10/11 64-bit.
Free and open source. Sponsors of any amount (the average donation is $5 at the moment) get the signed, auto-updating build; Pro is $9.99 a year.
Built on Ghostty
Ghostty is the cross-platform terminal from Mitchell Hashimoto and the broader Ghostty team, built around VT emulation correctness and deep configuration. Wintty builds on the Ghostty core and brings it natively to Windows with a WinUI 3 shell and a DirectX 12 renderer. Feature parity with Ghostty where it counts, plus Windows-native capabilities Ghostty doesn’t ship.

Windows-native, by design
Themeable

A drop-down, Quake-style terminal. Summon it with a hotkey, dismiss when done.
And many more
Features across theming, input, rendering, and beyond. Always growing.
Ghostty on Windows, the short version
Does Ghostty run on Windows? Ghostty itself doesn’t ship a native Windows build. Wintty brings the Ghostty core to Windows: same emulation and configuration model, with a native WinUI 3 + DirectX 12 shell.
Is Wintty the same as Ghostty? No. Wintty is a separate project that builds on the Ghostty core for VT emulation and configuration, then adds a Windows-native interface, renderer, and features Ghostty doesn’t have on Windows.
Curious how it differs in practice? See the documentation.
