Wintty 1.0.0-rc.4 release notes
Pro and Pro Legacy find your own installed tools again in persistent tabs, and choosing a session in the picker always does something you can see.
Highlights
- Pro and Pro Legacy: when an update leaves your sessions running the previous version, the update pill offers to bring them up to date. Restarting ends the programs running in those sessions, so it asks first and tells you how many are affected. Layout and scrollback come back; running programs do not.
Fixes
- Pro and Pro Legacy: tools installed under your own account, such as those from winget, scoop or cargo, are found again in tabs that persist. Before this, a persistent tab could only see programs installed for the whole machine, so a prompt or a command that worked in a local tab could fail in a persistent one.
- Pro and Pro Legacy: choosing a session in the sessions picker always does something you can see. It opens the session, says so when the session is already open in this window, or tells you why it could not be opened.
- Pro and Pro Legacy: a session that cannot be taken over because the confirmation could not be shown now reports that, instead of the pick appearing to do nothing.
Known issues
Warning
- To take an update, use the update popover inside the app; the buttons on the update toasts do not act yet.
- If the update fails, install this version from the download page.
- The Start menu's All apps entry can show a small, upscaled icon; the Desktop and Start menu shortcuts carry the proper icon.
- Bringing a left-behind session daemon up to date is offered when the app notices it. Sessions with nothing running in them are handled on their own.
